Maltesers Chocolate Cake

Back in December we surprised a friend of ours with a birthday gift and a birthday cake prepared by Liz. I was quite a surprise when Liz told us that the cake she had prepared didn’t need any oven cooking. Furthermore it looked delicious and it tasted heavenly.

Last week I reminded Liz about the cake and she gave me the recipe so that I could share it will all of you.

All you need is:

225g maltesers

225g crushed digestive biscuits

100g butter

200g milk chocolate

3 tablespoons golden syrup ( for a healthier version you can use honey)

Method:

Melt the syrup, butter and chocolate on low heat

When they melt, add the crushed digestive biscuits and mix altogether. Then add the maltesers and stir briefly.

Put the mixture in a lined baking tin

Press the mixture down and smooth

Refrigerate for an hour

When chilled, place chopping board over the baking tin and turn it over.

Store it in the fridge or in a cool place

You can now serve the cake as it is, cut it in pieces or cover it in chocolate.

Liz decided to cover the cake in white chocolate and it was a great combination.
