Pancakes with love

Which is the best way to surprise your lovely wife on a sunny Sunday morning?  Be creative! No more boring beans on toast or ham and cheese sandwiches…prepare a pancake with love!

This is my friend’s Jason idea and he was willing to share one of his tricks that keeps his love going 🙂

These are the easy to follow steps to prepare this tasty breakfast ( one might also consider doing it for a tea party)

The batter:

280 g self-raising flour
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 eggs
1/2 ltr milk
4 tablespoons melted butter

Sieve together the flour, sugar and salt. Make a well in the centre and add the milk and eggs. Combine and add melted butter.

First heat a pan and put some butter/spray.

Then put a shape in the pan ( any shape you like my friend here loves hearts :D) and cover with butter so that it doesn’t become sticky.

Fill the shape with the pancake batter.

When it is golden turn it on the other side  ( be careful how to do it because the metal shape will be very hot)

After a minute heat some jam next to the pancake.

Remove shape from pan and put it on a plate. Cut the edges by using a knife.

This is the end result. Cover the pancake with jam…for all those chocolate lovers, you can use Nutella instead of jam 🙂

Now isn’t this yummy!
